About Us
Julie recently graduated from undergrad at the University of Guelph; majored in Zoology and
works part-time at a local animal shelter.
Liz works full time, both at her job and at home. She is an avid "gardeness" and sells many
perennials (main focus is on Daylilies and Hostas), and also hybridises her own Daylilies. Visit
Gardeness Gardens for more details.
We have been raising finches since 2005 and have had parrots since 2006.
We both have plenty of pets along with the Gouldians including Pionus Parrots, an Eclectus
Parrot, a pair of Kakariki Parakeets, dogs, cats, ferrets and many other finch species.
Flying Above the Rest
Please note that some periods during the year our bird rooms will be closed to visitors.
"The closed aviary concept is the safest. At a minimum, aviaries should be closed to new birds and
visitors throughout the breeding season. Illnesses and pests can hitch a ride into your bird room on
both birds and people*. Allowing visitors into the "bird room" may cause breeding birds to abandon
their nests, upset the other inhabitants or introduce pathogens**."
When the above is in effect, we will still sell birds but we will have them ready for you to pick up in the
front entranceway. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
